Senior Technical Manager – TipTopJob Location: North West Midlands (Wolverhampton) Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 (Experience dependent) + Competitive Package Type: Permanent Are you an experienced Technical Coordinator or Engineer looking for a step up? A leading UK housebuilder is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to join their established regional team in Wolverhampton. This role manages the technical delivery of two complex residential schemes while providing mentorship to a small team of coordinators. The position sits at a level equivalent to a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Technical Team Manager. Responsibilities Lead the design development process from inception to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Take full ownership of two complex development sites. Supervise and support 1:2 junior team members in their daily tasks. Control the complete design process, managing external consultants and liaising with statutory and local authorities. Ensure all designs meet current legislation, Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and Planning requirements. Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to drive projects forward proactively. Qualifications Minimum 5 years within the housing industry as an engineer or technical coordinator. Excellent working knowledge of highways, drainage, building regulations, and NHBC standards. A proactive, problem‑solving mindset for design development and site‑based issues. Ability to mentor junior staff and manage high‑pressure, complex projects. Demonstrated understanding of engineering elements rather than just architectural components. Benefits and Culture Competitive salary up to £70k.
