Head of Operations – Autism & ADHD Services
Salary: £65,000 base
Location: Worcester (multi-site with expansion plans)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
An opportunity has arisen for a senior operations leader to take ownership of the launch and development of specialist children’s services focused on Autism and ADHD pathways.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys creating structure from the ground up. Designing operational frameworks, mobilising teams, and ensuring services are safe, effective, and scalable as they grow.
You will play a central role in establishing the first sites in Hereford and Worcester, working in close partnership with clinical leadership while shaping the future direction of children’s services as expansion progresses.
Key Responsibilities
Lead operational set-up and launch of Autism and ADHD services
Develop workforce, clinic, patient pathway, and systems plans
Ensure services are compliant, safe, and fully operational from day one
Establish scalable operational models for future expansion
Manage day-to-day delivery across referrals, appointments, clinic activity, and follow-up pathways
Monitor performance, address bottlenecks, and ensure consistent service standards
Collaborate with clinical teams to align operational delivery with quality standards
Recruit, lead, and mentor operational teams including administrators, team leads, and future service managers
Build a high-performing structure to support service growth
Foster collaboration between operational and clinical colleagues
Oversee use of operational platforms and patient management systems
Ensure technology supports efficiency, reporting, and service scalability
Drive continuous process improvements
Act as the operational lead for children’s services
Partner with clinical, finance, IT, and growth teams to support service expansion
Use learnings from initial sites to inform future launches and private service development
Experience Required
Essential
Senior operational leadership experience in healthcare, mental health, or children’s services
Proven track record in service mobilisation, launch, or scaling operations
Strong people management experience across multidisciplinary teams
Experience with operational systems and digital platforms
Ability to work across multiple sites and engage directly with operational teams
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
Experience within children’s services or neurodevelopmental pathways (Autism/ADHD)
Experience working alongside clinical leadership
Knowledge of NHS or NHS-adjacent service delivery models
Experience scaling services or supporting multi-site growth
Exposure to private healthcare or mixed public/private models
