Artemis Human Capital is delighted to partner exclusively with our client to recruit a Billing Manager for their growing utilities business. This newly created role offers the chance to shape and build the billing function from the ground upideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, leading teams, and delivering an excellent customer experience. The Role As Billing Manager, you will take the lead in setting up and managing the day-to-day billing operations. Youll work closely with colleagues across finance, operations, and customer service to create smooth, accurate, and customer-friendly billing processes. This role is hands-on, people-focused, and well suited to someone who enjoys building systems, supporting teams, and contributing to the wider success of the business. Key Responsibilities Lead the setup and ongoing development of the billing function Ensure bills are accurate, issued on time, and compliant with internal requirements Improve billing processes and introduce new ways of working to support growth Work closely with internal teams to promote strong communication and collaboration Build effective relationships with external partners and service providers Oversee contract management, procurement activity, and budget monitoring Track billing performance, resolve issues quickly, and support continuous improvement Recruit, lead, and support the billing team as the function grows Support integration with other business areas where required Prepare billing reports, forecasts, and updates for senior leadership The Individual We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and confident managing both people and processes. Skills & Experience Experience in billing or operations within utilities or a similar sector Ability to manage teams, develop staff, and drive performance Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to improving processes Comfortable working with different stakeholders and building positive working relationships Experience managing external partners or contracts Familiarity with CRM or billing/ERP systems Desirable Experience working across multiple utility services Experience setting up a new billing function or leading transformation projects Knowledge of customer billing journeys and revenue processes Values & Culture Our client is guided by empathy, clarity, integrity, and teamwork.
