Head of Production - 12-month maternity coverWe are working with an incredibly successful and highly reputable fashion supplier seeking a passionate Head of Production to join their dynamic team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a senior role responsible for all aspects of the company's garment and production management, covering team management, factory management and quality control.In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will be at the forefront of bringing exciting new collections to life, collaborating with designers, brands, manufacturers, and customers.The position requires strong technical knowledge, strategic oversight, and hands-on problem solving and will suit someone with previous experience in a similar role within a supplier environment.Based in the London studio, 5 days a week.Main responsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop the production function, including Merchandising and Garment Technology teamsOwn and manage the full production critical path, ensuring timelines are met and proactively resolving any delaysAct as first point of contact for production issues, liaising with factories, suppliers, and customers to achieve swift resolutionConduct regular production meetings, reporting on progress, approvals, and key metrics to senior leadershipOversee factory management: daily liaison, onboarding of new suppliers, compliance with auditing requirements, and adherence to evolving legislationCoordinate and manage quality control activities, including scheduling and oversight of on-site QC teamsBuild strong relationships with internal design, sales, and merchandising teams, aligning production with business prioritiesEnsure full compliance with customer requirements across all stages of production, including fabric, trims, and chemical testing standardsRepresent the business during factory visits and audits, occasionally travelling internationally to key suppliersPerson SpecificationDegree in Fashion, Textiles, or related technical disciplineMinimum 10 years' experience in a senior production or supplier-side role within apparel, with a strong track record of managing Far East manufacturingPrevious factory visits to China essential, and a good solid understanding of China factories and proceduresFactory Auditing - must have had previous experience in handling and processing factory audits / reporting back to factories on any CAPs and ensuring all customer requirements are metProven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, motivate staff, and build collaborative working environmentsStrong knowledge of garment construction, fit processes, and production methodologies; pattern cutting experience advantageousProficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with PLM or similar production management systems
