Tuition Opportunity - Play-Based Tutor Needed (ASAP Start) Location: GU11Student: Aged 5 (Reuben)Hours: 15 hours per week (Mon-Fri)Duration: 10 weeks initially, with potential extensionDelivery:Face-to-face in the family homePay:£25-£30 per hour About the Role We are seeking a patient, creative, and experienced tutor to deliver play-based learning for a young learner who is awaiting a Year R school placement. This role is ideal for someone with a background in Early Years, SEND, or therapeutic education approaches. The successful tutor will focus on developing engagement, communication, early learning skills, and supporting sensory and emotional needs through structured play. Learner Profile & Needs Reuben has the following primary needs identified in his EHCP: Autism Significant social communication & interaction difficulties Expressive and receptive language delays Sensory processing difficulties Sleep concerns currently under assessment Ongoing assessments for hypermobility The tutor will be expected to create a nurturing, consistent routine and adapt learning activities to meet his sensory, communication, and developmental needs. Tutor Requirements We welcome applications from tutors with experience in: SEND / ASD Early Years or play-based approaches Communication-focused learning Sensory-informed practice No gender preference for this role. About the tutoring Provide 1:1 tuition in core subjects or functional skills Deliver xbpsjku engaging, personalised learning sessions Support learners with varying needs and learning styles Track progress and adapt teaching approaches where needed Work in homes, schools, or community settings depending on placement Requirements 6 months working in UK schools Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science Experience tutoring or teaching (school, intervention, tuition centre, or mentoring) Ability to build positive relationships with students Reliable, organised, and confident working independently A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
