Protocol Education is partnering with a range of welcoming, well‑led primary schools across Gateshead who are looking to recruit Early Career Teachers for both long‑term placements and flexible supply roles.

What’s Available
We are currently recruiting for:
EYFS ECT roles
KS1, Years 1 and 2
KS2, Years 3 to 6
Full‑time long‑term placements
Flexible supply roles where you choose your working days
Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only.
You’ll be placed in supportive Gateshead primary schools with strong behaviour policies, experienced mentors, and collaborative staff teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on the role, you could:
Take full responsibility for your own class in a long‑term placement
Deliver engaging, curriculum‑led lessons
Follow established behaviour and safeguarding procedures
Work alongside experienced year group teachers
Receive regular ECT mentoring and structured feedback
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
You’ll develop confidence in planning, assessment, behaviour management and curriculum delivery in real classroom settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
