Principal Consultant – Platform Engineering (AWS & Azure)Fully Remote (UK only)I’m currently supporting a leading UK cloud consultancy in the search for two Principal Consultants to join their growing Platform Engineering practice:These are fully remote, permanent roles within a high-performing consultancy delivering complex cloud, DevOps, and platform transformations for enterprise clients.The OpportunityThese are true Principal-level consultancy roles. They are looking for individuals who:Come from a strong consultancy background (this is essential)Have operated at Principal / Lead Architect level within client-facing environmentsAre comfortable advising CTO/CIO-level stakeholdersCan define enterprise platform and DevOps strategyShape cloud operating models, landing zones, and governance frameworksLead multi-disciplinary teams across complex transformation programmesThis is not a pure engineering role, it requires commercial awareness, stakeholder influence, and the ability to shape and win work as well as deliver it.What They’re Looking ForDeep expertise in AWS platform architectureStrong background in Terraform/OpenTofu and policy-as-codeExperience designing CI/CD and GitOps workflowsKnowledge of EKS/ECS, serverless architectures, and observability toolingExperience shaping multi-account AWS landing zonesDeep expertise in Azure platform architectureStrong experience with Terraform/Bicep and Azure landing zonesCI/CD design using Azure DevOps or GitHub ActionsExperience with AKS, Azure Functions, and enterprise governanceStrong understanding of identity, networking, and security in AzureFor both roles:Proven experience in a consultancy environment (non-negotiable)Experience mentoring senior engineers and architectsCommercially aware, outcome-focused mindsetWhy This Consultancy?Fully remote working across the UKEngineering-led culture with strong technical standardsOpportunity to influence practice direction and technical standardsConsultancy focused on quality over scaleIf you’re currently operating in a consultancy at Lead Architect or Principal level and want to step into a role with greater strategic influence, I’d be keen to speak.Apply now online for a confidential discussion. #J-18808-Ljbffr
