Senior Product Designer - Home Imagination - Amsterdam

We are an AI research and development lab within IKEA’s Ingka group, committed to delivering magical products that revolutionize how people shop and design their homes.

IKEA Kreativ is our flagship home design experience. Using AI and mixed reality, it helps customers scan a real room and design their space across the IKEA App and website. It’s IKEA’s best home design offering and an industry‑leading option for customers furnishing their homes. We’re now building on that foundation to deliver smarter experiences across the customer journey, integrated into IKEA shopping.

We are seeking a Product Designer with 5+ years of experience to join the team. In this role, you’ll tackle exciting UX challenges related to the future of retail, including AI‑powered shopping, computer vision, 3D design, and e‑commerce journeys. Your role will simplify complex design problems, working with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to shape products that enhance the shopping experience. This role is based in the IKEA office in Amsterdam, NE, and collaborating with international coworkers in Sweden, the US, and Canada.

Key qualifications

5+ years of experience as a product or UX designer

Experience with consumer‑facing products and research

A design portfolio showcasing impressive UX/UI work, preferably in consumer mobile & web apps

Experience translating complex design problems and technologies into purposeful solutions

History of taking products from concept to market and working with engineers

Excellent presentation, storytelling, and marketing skills

Proficient in leading design projects and working with stakeholders across an organization

Skilled in user flows and journey mapping that align with customers’ needs and business goals

Persuades with research insights and data. Forms defendable design decisions.

Human‑centered design process

Success in implementing and developing brand language in designs

Defines design systems or UX frameworks; drives end‑to‑end UX quality across products or services.

Mastery of Figma, including design, prototyping, and handoff

Friendly, supportive, and collaborative team player

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Industrial Design, User Experience, or a related field

Preferred qualifications

2+ years of experience developing consumer AI, 3D design, mixed reality or augmented reality, e‑commerce, or retail products.
