Platform Engineer About TenneT Europe's energy transition is among the greatest challenges of our time. Its goal: To make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 at the latest. The Netherlands and Germany have therefore set themselves ambitious goals to expand offshore wind energy: as early as 2030, Germany and the Netherlands want to reach a capacity of 30 and 22.2 Gigawatts, respectively. Energy from offshore wind farms in the European powerhouse North Sea will play in this a crucial role. TenneT guarantees that this energy will reach the mainland - and in the most environmentally friendly way possible. That is why we have developed the 2GW program with a unique transnational approach. And thus increase the pace and efficiency of the energy transition.

Unit Business Technology (BTO) BTO will drive security of supply, energy transition, organizational and financial health through digital, data and analytics. BTO will secure solid foundations through seamless end-user services (UX), industry-leading cybersecurity setup and resilient data centers and cloud infrastructure. BTO will have consistent business/BTO alignment, strategic partnerships with vendors and clear standards on architecture, vendor & portfolio management and security. BTO will unlock value of data and digital by building all the necessary enablers (incl. data platform, data governance processes, capabilities) and embedding innovation initiatives into business roadmaps.

Job Description We are looking for a Kubernetes specialist (32-40 hrs) to strengthen our DevOps team (named Asgard). The team exists of 8 colleagues: 6 engineers, a PO and a scrummaster. Together you take responsibility for the development and maintenance of the container Kafka platform. These are exciting times at TenneT! We are speeding up our IT delivery to be able to support the energy transition. This requires new tools, technologies and processes. Asgard is building a container platform so we can provide our (internal) customers with one stop shop and self-service functionalities on our own datacenters. To contribute you’ll need to:

Bring expert level knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform and ArgoCD.

Have experience with HashiCorp Vault, Rancher and Portworx.

Align with other DevOps engineers that are working on the container platform.

Align with (solution) architects and engineers to identify the requirements for the container platform.

Ensure privacy and security are respected.

React to incidents and perform standby activities with the rest of the team.

Provide suggestions and tools to help development decrease lead time.

Wensen

Experience with maintaining a container platform.

CKA and/or CKAD certified or willing to get certified.

Understanding software defined networking and Micro Services architecture.

Experience with Agile development and Scrum.

Version Management (GitHub Enterprise), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

Experience with deploying using tools like Helm and ArgoCD.

Experience with observability (ELK, Prometheus and Grafana).

A 'go to' person who is comfortably able to find his way in a large organization

Communicative, articulate, pro-active and easy to approach

A person that takes timely and informative decisions
