Junior Buyer

JOB DESCRIPTION Junior Buyer plays a key role within the Supply Chain Department by ensuring timely procurement of equipment, materials, and services in alignment with project requirements, budget constraints, and quality standards. In this role, you will source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, favorable contractual terms, and on‑time delivery. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, logistics, and inspection teams to ensure that procurement activities support overall project schedules and technical specifications. Your commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and proactive approach will directly contribute to the success of GustoMSC's projects.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies, project needs, and timelines.

Monitor project schedules and identify upcoming procurement requirements.

Support the identification, qualification, and onboarding of new suppliers in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Lead supplier negotiations to secure optimal pricing, contractual terms, and delivery schedules.

Manage and negotiate variation orders in collaboration with Package or Project Managers.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve cost efficiency, lead times, and service quality.

Oversee purchasing, expediting, logistics, and inspection activities, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.

Conduct supplier performance evaluations and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Assist Package Managers with handling nonconformities, returns, and corrective actions.

Compile supply chain risk assessments and support mitigation initiatives.

Comply with all Quality Assurance, Health, Safety & Environment policies and contribute to department improvements.

Participate in required training and maintain strong safety awareness.

Qualifications & Skills Essential Qualifications

BSc degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or relevant field

1‑2 years of experience in offshore supply chain and purchasing

Negotiation and commercial skills.

Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

Experience working with ERP systems (preferably Oracle).

Desired Qualifications

Dutch language skills.

Previous experience with supplier qualification, technical evaluation coordination, or complex project procurement.

Understanding of offshore industry standards and quality requirements.
