People Manager
to lead our data engineering teams to new heights.

What is your role?
As the People Manager, you will play a critical role and a key leader within our Data Office, an international and growing department of around 20 professionals driving data innovations from the core. This role specifically focuses on leading a team of approximately 15 engineers. With your passion for facilitating, coaching and empowering you make sure the teams are performing at their best. You will be reporting to the Head of Data and together with Product Owners, Architects & Tech Leads ensure that the teams are well‑equipped to facilitate growth.
Responsibilities
The primary focus will be cultivating a positive and supportive team culture by establishing healthy rituals that align with our DNA.
Coach and mentor by applying the formal development framework to identify, provide feedback and support the individual growth of each team member, helping them advance in their careers.
Establish the team as a true Center of Excellence by driving best practices, knowledge sharing, and ensuring a high standard of work.
Build a capable workforce and own the full talent lifecycle from hiring and onboarding to ensuring their successful integration and performance management.
Empower and guide the team within an Agile SCRUM environment, focusing on their well‑being, creating clarity, fostering trust and removing obstacles, so they can do their best work and deliver to the expected standards.
Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure strategic alignment while maintaining a primary focus on team health, satisfaction, and overall performance.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in managing resources (10+ FTE) and leading people to deliver on objectives in a tech/digital or e-commerce environment.
Hands‑on experience in Agile Leadership/Support roles such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, or Product Owner, working closely with engineering teams.
Ability to be a trusted advisor to the Leadership team when it comes to People Strategy & Growth, offering guidance and support to help the organization achieve its overarching goals.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
Experience in creating a collaborative and innovative team environment, preferably within a cloud context (GCP or AWS), is a strong plus.
This role follows a hybrid working model and requires regular presence at both our headquarters in Varsseveld and our Utrecht office. Occasional travel to other European locations will be required.
