Your Responsibilities
We are looking for an ambitious and financially talented professional to join our team as Financial Controller in Amsterdam . In this role you will assist with the oversight of the accounting, tax, treasury and certain corporate secretarial functions of real estate portfolios and legal entities across Europe. Additionally, you will gain exposure to other departments within the company such as acquisitions, capital markets, fund management, and property management.
Finance and Accounting:
Coordinatecomplianceofvariousaccounting,taxandtreasurymatterswiththird-partyserviceproviderstoensuretimelyandaccurateroutinefinancialreporting
ReviewannualauditedfinancialstatementsoftheEuropeanportfoliounderIFRSorlocalGAAP
Assistwiththecoordinationoftheauditingprocessesacrosstheportfolio
Coordinatewiththeportfolioandassetmanagementteamsonroutinelenderandinvestorreportingaswellasbudgetingprocesses
SupporttheEuropeanmanagementteamonvariousoperationalandadministrativematters
AcquisitionsSupport:
SupportAcquisition’steamwithfinancialduediligence(reviewoffinancialstatements,coordinationofoutsourcingproviders)onnewacquisitions
Assist with onboarding of service providers (e.g. property managers, accountants, etc.) regarding the setup of accounting, treasury, and reporting standards
Your Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax or related vocational training required; Chartered Accountant (CA) or other related certifications a plus
Work Experience: 3-7 years’ experience in real estate accounting or related field with at least 2 years of experience preparing and/or reviewing financial statements
Language Proficiency: Exceptional written and verbal communication in German and English. Fluent in one additional European language is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch)
Skills:
SolidunderstandingofIFRS,GermanGAAP(HGB)aswellasstrongExcelproficiencyisrequired
Abilitytoworkautonomouslywhileatthesametimecoordinatingprocesses,workingaspartofdifferentteams
Further a plus: knowledge of foreign withholding taxes; experience with real estate share and assets deals across Europe; experience with treasury management
