Senior Nuclear Engineering Leader – New Build (Netherlands)

We are supporting an early-stage nuclear new-build programme in the Netherlands, focused on shaping the technical and engineering foundations of a long-term national asset.

This role is about engineering judgement rather than execution — helping decision-makers frame the right questions, understand design positions, and navigate the complexity of modern reactor technologies at an early point in the lifecycle.

The programme involves large Gen III+ reactor designs and requires senior individuals who can operate confidently across disciplines, interfaces, and stakeholders.

The role You would act as a senior technical sounding board, contributing experience-based insight across: • reactor and plant design philosophies • systems and safety considerations • engineering interfaces and maturity • governance, assurance, and proportionate challenge

This is not a narrow discipline role. It suits someone who has evolved from a strong technical foundation into a broad engineering or technical leadership position.

Background we are interested in • Senior experience in nuclear new build or major reactor programmes • Exposure to large reactor designs from a vendor, utility, engineering consultancy, or owner/TSO perspective • Ability to engage across systems, safety, engineering, and regulatory contexts • Comfortable advising and influencing without direct line authority

Location & mobility • The role is Netherlands-based • Relocation is expected • We are open to international profiles, particularly from across the European Union
