Manager Manufacturing Engineering

Position Overview
The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering leads and optimizes operations across Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. This role drives engineering excellence, ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and innovation. The manager aligns engineering capabilities with organizational objectives, supports continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to industry standards and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Engineering
Process Development and Optimization
Lead the design, development, and implementation of efficient manufacturing processes to meet production and quality targets.
Identify and apply advanced technologies, including automation and AI-driven solutions, to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
Equipment and Technology Management
Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliability.
Collaborate with suppliers to integrate advanced technologies into production lines.
Implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with R&D and product development to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new designs.
Partner with production and quality teams to solve engineering challenges and improve product reliability.
Align manufacturing with supply chain operations to optimize material flow and reduce lead times.
Training and Development
Mentor engineering teams and provide technical training to foster innovation.
Develop skill enhancement programs to align team capabilities with industry advancements.
2. Industrial Engineering
Process Efficiency and Work Optimization
Design and optimize workflows, production layouts, and material handling systems.
Conduct time and motion studies to improve labor productivity and standardize operations.
Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Capacity Planning and Resource Management
Conduct capacity analysis and production planning to optimize labor, equipment, and materials.
Balance production lines and manpower allocation to achieve output targets.
Support strategic planning for long-term capacity expansion.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
Use data analytics to identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements.
Implement value engineering to enhance efficiency without compromising quality.
Cost and Performance Analysis
Monitor key production metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and efficiency.
Analyze operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Develop dashboards and KPI tracking systems for data-driven decisions.

Technical expertise in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and equipment management.
Proficiency in Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-time Delivery Rate (OTIF), Production Efficiency (OEE), Labor Productivity, Product Quality Compliance, Production Yield, Cycle Time and Downtime Reduction, Cost per Unit, Capacity Utilization, Scrap Rate, Time to Market, Customer Satisfaction, Maintenance Cost, Workforce Safety Metrics (e.g., LTIFR).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred).
7–10 years in manufacturing engineering with leadership experience.
Certifications preferred: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), OHSAS or ISO 45001.
