Passive Fire Protection (PFP) About The Role In this role, you will help grow PPGโ€™s global Passive Fire Protection (PFP) business by developing new coatings, supporting certification testing, and working closely with technical, commercial, and marketing teams worldwide. You act as a key link between R&D and the Global Specification, Testing & Certification (GSTC) team to bring innovative PFP solutions to market quickly and safely. What You Will Do

Develop and test premium PFP coatings (cellulosic & hydrocarbon). Prepare and follow up on test packages with internal labs and external institutes (e.g., Warrington Fire). Participate in furnace fire testing and calibration activities. Support global product development projects and agile innovation initiatives. Transfer test results to S&T, product management, and commercial teams. Work closely with Manufacturing, Product Stewardship, Operations, and Procurement. Drive innovation and contribute to new intellectual property. Promote safety and ensure compliance with PPG policies in all labs. Travel domestically and internationally when needed. What You Bring

Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in Passive Fire Protection (cellulosic and/or hydrocarbon). Strong understanding of fire testing standards (EN/BS, UL, ASTM, etc.). Experience in R&D, product development, scaleโ€‘up, or manufacturing. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (BS/MS/PhD). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to build strong relationships in a global, crossโ€‘functional environment. Business awareness and comfort managing technical risks.
