As a growing organization, we are seeking a reliable and hands-on Administrative & Finance Manager to establish and manage our financial and administrative framework in the Netherlands.
The Position
The Administrative & Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial management, administrative structure, and regulatory compliance of the Dutch entity.
This is a key role within a startup environment, requiring a professional who is both strategic and operational — capable of setting up processes while ensuring day-to-day control. You will work closely with leadership and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee bookkeeping and financial administration
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Monitor accounts payable and receivable
Oversee invoicing processes
Support annual financial statement preparation
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with Dutch financial and tax regulations
Coordinate VAT (BTW) filings and corporate tax matters
Maintain proper financial documentation and audit trails
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
Administrative Management
Establish and maintain internal administrative processes
Manage contracts, documentation, and corporate records
Support HR administration (employment contracts, payroll coordination, onboarding documentation)
Oversee insurance policies and service provider agreements
Operational Support
Contribute to financial strategy and business planning
Identify process improvements and cost optimization opportunities
Support leadership with financial analysis and reporting
Your Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance and administration
Experience in a startup or growing SME environment is highly preferred
Solid understanding of Dutch accounting standards and tax regulations
Experience working with external accountants and payroll providers
Technical Skills
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Exact, AFAS, Twinfield, or similar)
Strong Excel skills
Knowledge of Dutch VAT and corporate tax requirements
Familiarity with financial reporting standards
Language Requirements
Fluency in Dutch (mandatory)
Strong command of English (mandatory)
French is a plus
