Purpose of the Role:
The Automation Process Workstream Lead will be responsible for technically leading the Automation control system solution for the Utilities, Tank Farm and Warehouse areas. They will work closely with other members of the Project Team, including the Automation Project Manager, Automation Area Leads, Process Engineers, Tech Services/Manufacturing Science Representatives, Quality Engineers, and Operations.
The Automation Workstream Lead will represent the client overseeing the design, build and testing of both equipment vendor and system integrator supplied automation solutions.
Role Responsibilities:
Technical ownership for process automation in the Utilities, Tank Farm and Warehouse areas
Ensure the automation solution is aligned with the overall program automation philosophy and standards
Technical management of the system integrator and automation provided by equipment vendors
Support the A&E firm during the package procurement from an automation perspective
Supervision, review, and approval of System Integrator and Equipment Vendor design and code
Functional/User requirement review and approval
P&ID and control strategy reviews
Supervision and review of the work performed by the workstream automation team
Maintain issue tracker, risk register
Preparation of weekly reports to stakeholders
Communicate progress, issues, and needs to the automation project manager
Support schedule development and cost estimates for project gate reviews
Identification and estimation of any remediation effort required on packaged equipment
Review and approve all automation deliverables (FRS, HDS, code for code review, etc.)
Support the C&Q team during C&Q activities
Establish and actively work on getting staff onboarded
Collaborate with their Digital workstream counterpart to align automation and digital solutions
Participate in P&ID and control strategy reviews
Support the development of software testing strategies
Role Requirement:
BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of working experience in automation in the Pharmaceutical Industry (preferably in Dry Product manufacturing)
Previous Utilities and Tank Farm automation experience
Previous Pharmaceutical Automation Large Project/Program experience/expertise
7+ yearsโ experience with Rockwell PLC and FactoryTalk software
Demonstrated technical leadership and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, computer system validation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
