From Amsterdam to Tokyo, our plushies have found their way into some of the world’s most inspiring stores; including Harrods, La Samaritaine, ARKET, Liberty London, Merci Paris and MoMA Japan.

About the role

As (the first) People & Culture Manager at Bon Ton Toys, you will be the driving force behind everything related to our people. You will operate both strategically and hands‑on, building a solid HR foundation as we grow our team from 24 to 30 colleagues in 2026. Our goal for 2026 is clear: “a rock‑star team.” In order to achieve this goal, you will enhance the employee experience, translate our culture into ways of working and hire top talent. You will focus on the following areas:

Recruitment:

Responsible for recruiting new talent, including replacement roles. For this, we often work with recruitment agencies.

Sparring Partner for the Management Team:

Provide advice, coaching, and guidance on team‑related cases and leadership challenges.

Employee Experience:

Take ownership of running the employee experience, including evaluation conversations, onboarding and other HR touchpoints, while supporting managers in these processes.

HR Project Management:

Initiate and execute HR projects that strengthen culture, policies and team development.

Team Point of Contact & HR Admin:

Ensure smooth HR administration - including contracts and payroll - and act as the primary contact for the team to ensure they feel heard and supported.

Strategic Insight: Able to see the bigger picture and translate it into concrete HR actions.

Mediator: Effectively navigate and resolve conflicts or challenges within teams.

Trusted Partner: The management team and colleagues rely on you for guidance and support.

Discreet: Handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality.

Hands‑On Execution: Confidently take initiative and carry out projects and daily HR tasks.

First Projects:

Way of Working: Establish agreements for meetings, communication and work routines based on our company culture to ensure smooth and efficient collaboration.

Team Development: Support the team’s growth using our Enneagram tool to understand drivers and motivations for behaviour.Employer Branding: Drive initiatives in employer branding to strengthen our presence as an attractive employer.

Who are you?

You have

around 5 years of experience in HR , can confidently lead (strategic) projects and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to handle hands‑on tasks. You are comfortable in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment and preferably already have experience in scale‑ups. This role is for example ideal for a HR Business Partner who wants to take the next step to become a stand‑alone People & Culture Manager. Ideally, you can join us in March or April.
