Electrical & Instrumentation Designer

Function As an E&I Designer, you will work together with your colleagues on the design of innovative offshore high-voltage substations. You will be responsible for the complete design of the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) cable infrastructure, from concept to detailed engineering. This includes building and maintaining a detailed E&I database and producing all documentation required for installation and commissioningYou will be part of the E&I design discipline, working in close-knit project teams of 3 to 8 colleagues.

Specific duties in this role include:

Building and maintaining a complete and accurate SmartPlant Instrumentation/Intools database for E&I systems.

Registering and managing all E&I components, cables and terminal strips.

Connecting cables in the SPI wiring module.

Generating termination diagrams and loop diagrams using SPI and AutoCAD.

Ensuring cable routing and connections are correct and consistent across all documentation.

Liaising with E&I engineers, designers and other disciplines to ensure an integrated design.

Supporting installation and commissioning teams by delivering clear and reliable design outputs.

Requirements

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.

At least 3 years of relevant working experience in E&I or cable design.

Proven experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI / Intools).

Familiarity with AutoCAD and E&I documentation.

Experience in multidisciplinary projects (offshore, energy or industrial projects is a plus).

Strong communication and analytical skills.

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
