Payroll Team Lead (Dutch speaking)

We are hiring a

Dutch speaking Payroll Team Lead

for a large, international retail organisation operating across the Netherlands.

This is not a processing-only role. We are looking for a senior payroll professional who takes

full ownership of Dutch payroll operations end-to-end , leads by example, and ensures payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered right first time.

You will oversee payroll for

across several European countries , working closely with Payroll Associates, People Operations and Finance.

Your responsibilities

End-to-end

Dutch payroll processing Accuracy, compliance and on-time delivery Complex payroll queries and escalations Payroll continuity during peak periods or absences Compliance with

Dutch tax law, labour law and pension regulations Payroll reporting and reconciliations Audit support (internal & external) AFAS payroll system management Time & attendance integration oversight Process improvement and operational efficiency

You’ll also: Coach and support payroll team members Lead onboarding and knowledge transfer Identify risks before they become problems Improve structure, planning and ownership within the team This role requires confidence, independence and strong decision-making.

This role requires someone comfortable operating at both operational and strategic level.

Your profile Fluent Dutch

& English (mandatory) Strong knowledge of

Dutch payroll legislation Proven experience owning payroll in the Netherlands AFAS Payroll experience (essential) Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues Strong Excel skills (analysis, reconciliations, reporting) Structured, proactive and solution-driven mindset Comfortable operating in a fast-paced retail environment Experience with MANUS, Workday or Dayforce? Strong plus.
