This role is the Manufacturing Engineer (Bayer internal job title: Process Engineer) and drives facility optimization and operational process improvements for the physical seed process on the Enkhuizen site. He/she pursues implementing the overall site strategy by supporting as subject matter expert for the operational teams and by driving more complex projects. The focus is on driving continuous improvement on machinery to enhance product quality level. The improvements will be realized by updating and innovating processing equipment. You will report to the Unit Lead. In this position, your key stakeholders in Enkhuizen include: the seed cleaning and upgrading departments, maintenance, seed physiology, seed tech implementation specialist and management as well as external service providers and equipment suppliers. You will be working closely together with both the Maintenance & Facility Engineer and the operational teams. This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring daily presence at the Enkhuizen site.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive and manage complex process improvement projects on the site
Assist with process and equipment designs and efficiency projects and liaise with (external) design contractors
Accountable for the PO process (CAPEX/OPEX) for project implementation
Manage the MoC process and ensure that it is followed and implemented for all changes on the site, with all documentation stored centrally
Support operators and technicians in driving improvements and support after new machine installation
Analyse data for optimization purposes
Prioritize optimization based on ROI and secure implementation
Provide input for the Site Master Plan with business justification (CAPEX process)
Lead Value Stream Mapping, Opportunity Assessment, Loss & Waste analyses or similar for the site to identify and prioritize optimization possibilities
Active participation in ‘Global internal Process Engineer’ network for learning and sharing
Active scouting on external innovative technologies for site process optimization
Perform retrospectives for own development and process changes.

WHO YOU ARE
Bachelor’s degree level required. An HTS degree is essential, but having both MTS and HTS qualifications (e.g., Mechatronics, General Operational Techniques, or (Mechanical) Engineering) is advantageous, as it combines theoretical and practical knowledge. Candidates should also possess relevant technical knowledge
Multiple years of experience in a similar role in the seed industry (or closely related industries such as agriculture, biotechnology) and preferably familiar with seed technology
Your experience includes leading projects and improving production efficiency
Data analytics, project management and continuous improvement experience is required in order to design innovative (and improve existing) processes and machinery
Proficiency in process optimization techniques (Lean Manufacturing) and a LEAN certification is an advantage.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels of the organization
Ability to influence and convince
Ability to identify and accurately analyse complex seed tech and technical problems including follow-up and implementation of solutions
Continuous improvement and learning mindset
Fluent in Dutch & English (both written and spoken)
You are willing to commute to the Enkhuizen site on a daily basis.
