Commercial Manager

As Commercial Manager, you must continually and critically monitor the procurement and commercial aspects of their projects and determine strategies and actions to mitigate commercial risk and protect profit margins. Furthermore, working collaboratively with the project teams, the Commercial Manager is responsible for providing input in finding opportunities through value engineering, programme logic and procurement decisions amongst other things, to enhance project profitability. Working within projects, the Commercial Manager is responsible for liaising with Project Leads to ascertain information and provide accurate and timely submission of commercial information to enable the project monthly reports, to meet finance deadlines. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing cash flow and cost to complete forecasting for all projects. Key Responsibilities

Lead all commercial and contractual elements throughout the tendering process. Review scope, interfaces, contract terms, and employer requirements thoroughly prior to tender submission. Prepare and submit approval documentation, including Request for Approval and Contract Approval Forms. Monitor design performance of consultants and contractors, with a focus on identifying early warning indicators. Support accurate and timely reporting of cost, programme, and operational metrics, both internally and externally. Evaluate and price risks across technical, contractual, and commercial dimensions. Refine procurement strategy post-award to optimise contracting outcomes. Maintain strict control of project budgets to maximise profitability. Contribute to the selection and ongoing performance evaluation of contractors and consultants. About you

Advanced knowledge of Quantity Surveying principles, cost planning, and commercial management. Strong understanding of contract law, procurement frameworks, and industry regulations. developments. Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. Skilled in stakeholder engagement across diverse cultural and organisational contexts. Expertise in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing best-practice solutions. Exceptional accuracy in cost analysis, contract review, and compliance checks.
