Base Pay Range €3.300 – €3.700 per month (€3,308.00 - €3,675.00)

Responsibilities As a dental assistant, you support the dentist in the practice. You prepare the practice room, set up instruments, assist during dental procedures of military patients, sterilize instruments, maintain records and appointments, and receive patients. You also prepare materials for fillings and impressions, and you perform these tasks during exercises and deployments both on land and aboard vessels.

Workplace Prior to starting work you must attend a military training program in Den Helder, covering difficult operating conditions, exercises, map reading, and military first aid. After training you will work with the Defence Dental Service (DTD) at seven Dutch locations and two overseas (Curaçao and Aruba). The main location is the Central Hospital in Den Helder. The practice in Den Helder opened in June 2022, fully equipped. You will work with military dentists, specialists, hygienists, preventive assistants, and chair assistants, and participate in exercises with potential overseas deployment.

Requirements MBO 4 qualification or equivalent; age 17 to 30 years and 6 months; vision acuity with spectacles or contact lenses acceptable; holds driving licence B; must be able to swim; general good physical condition.
