Data Governance Lead Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Data Governance Lead Consultant

to support enterprise data governance, data modelling, and data architecture initiatives. The role focuses on establishing robust data governance frameworks aligned with

DAMA-DMBOK

principles, developing enterprise-wide data models, and enabling high data quality, metadata management, and lineage across domains.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data governance bodies, data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure consistency, compliance, and strategic alignment of data assets.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Data Office to design and implement data governance frameworks based on DAMA-DMBOK principles

Collaborate with Data Governance Boards and Councils to define policies, standards, and stewardship models

Support governance operating models across business and technology domains

Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models

Ensure alignment and consistency of data models across systems and domains

Link data models with business glossaries and reference data standards

Use enterprise data modelling tools such as

Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)

Define approaches for data quality measurement, monitoring, and reporting

Establish metadata management and end-to-end data lineage

Work with enterprise data catalog tools such as

Collibra ,

Atlan , or similar platforms

Define and maintain enterprise data architecture in line with organisational standards

Support data strategy initiatives and transformation programmes

Ensure architectural alignment across platforms, domains, and data products

Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business SMEs

Participate in governance councils and transformation forums

Act as a bridge between business requirements and technical data solutions

Qualifications

4–6 years of experience in Data Architecture and Data Modelling

Strong hands‑on experience with DAMA‑DMBOK‑aligned data governance frameworks

Proven expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling

Experience with enterprise data modelling tools (e.g. Sparx EA)

Strong knowledge of data quality management, metadata, and data lineage

Hands‑on experience with data catalog tools such as Collibra or Atlan

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
