Scope Procurement Strategy Program Manager / Chief of Staff to CPO – Amsterdam, NL

Reports to Head of Procurement Strategy, Insights & Excellence

Job Purpose The Procurement Strategy, Insights & Excellence team (SI&E) powers the transformation of the Magnum Ice Cream Procurement through four key pillars by:

Driving the long‑term global procurement strategy, annual business planning, and procurement performance management.

Leveraging advanced analytics to deliver actionable insights.

Upskilling people to best‑in‑class digitally savvy procurement experts (Sourcing, Negotiation, Communication, Culture, Leadership development…).

Implementing governance models with optimized processes for value delivery, compliance and operational excellence, integrating sustainability and responsible sourcing principles to embed sustainability and compliance in procurement excellence.

Through innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, data‑driven decision‑making, agility and best practices, the SI&E Team ensures procurement operates as a key enabler of value creation and competitive advantage for the business.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Agenda Orchestration

Drive the global procurement strategic agenda end‑to‑end, ensuring priorities from the CPO and SI&E are translated into actionable plans, cascaded effectively, and executed with discipline to accelerate value delivery.

Connect strategy to execution by aligning pillar owners, functional leads, and cross‑functional stakeholders, ensuring clarity of deliverables, timelines, and interdependencies.

Coordinate the full governance cadence for the Procurement Strategy Framework, driving momentum through monthly pillar connects, newsletters, and global updates that keep stakeholders aligned and the transformation on track.

Maintain strong interfaces with external strategic partners to ensure thought‑leadership, benchmarking, and best‑practice adoption enhance procurement’s transformation journey.

Procurement Leadership Governance & Performance Management

Lead Procurement Leadership Team (PLT) governance routines (monthly performance reviews, monthly strategic meetings, and bi‑monthly global town‑halls) by preparing high‑quality decision materials, integrating insights, and ensuring the CPO and PLT have the right information at the right time to steer the business.

Run enterprise‑wide performance cycles by consolidating KPIs, productivity outcomes, and strategic program progress, highlighting risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities that impact business growth and competitiveness.

Chief of Staff to the CPO

Act as the central orchestrator for the CPO, ensuring focus on the most critical strategic priorities and managing the flow of information, decisions, and stakeholder engagements across the global procurement community.

Enable leadership effectiveness by anticipating needs, pre‑aligning stakeholders, shaping narratives, and ensuring seamless execution of CPO commitments, communications, and enterprise leadership moments.

Forecasting, Productivity & Financial Governance

Partner with Finance and the forecast champion to drive disciplined forecasting cycles, ensuring accurate, timely, and insight‑rich inputs from procurement that support business planning and risk management.

Strengthen productivity governance by supporting methodologies, managing forecast cycles as the procurement single point of contact, and ensuring visibility and accountability for productivity improvements.

Cross‑Functional Integration & Operating Rhythm

Ensure end‑to‑end governance of procurement’s operating rhythm, aligning processes, templates, and cadences across strategic planning, forecasting, performance reviews, and people/capability routines.

Enhance functional alignment by connecting procurement with R&D, marketing, finance, and supply chain on strategic projects, notably innovation, complexity reduction, and capability initiatives.

People, Culture & Capability Enablement

Support the people pillar by driving capability‑building routines, onboarding journeys for new joiners, and cultural initiatives that strengthen digital, analytical, sourcing, and leadership skills across the function.

Amplify communication and engagement, including organising learning sessions, and ensuring impactful storytelling that keeps teams aligned, inspired, and informed.

Event, Meeting & Communication Leadership

Lead preparation of procurement’s high‑impact leadership events, including face‑to‑face PLT meetings and global communication moments, ensuring flawless logistics, agenda design, and content that elevates functional performance and cohesion.

Shape strategic communications for internal audiences, ensuring clarity, alignment, and strong narrative flow across announcements, updates, and leadership messages.

Bias for action and end‑to‑end ownership, ensuring that commitments are followed through, risks are anticipated, and actions are executed with discipline.

Strong analytical capability, able to work with performance data, productivity metrics, and forecast inputs to surface insights and shape decisions.

Experiences & Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years experience in procurement, within at least 2 years as category lead with a managerial role in the FMCG industry.

Proven track record managing complex, multi‑market or multi‑category portfolios, demonstrating strong commercial judgement and strategic risk‑reward thinking.

Deep understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain and value chain dynamics, and how they connect to procurement strategy, productivity delivery, and business growth, ideally with global exposure.

Strong business acumen, with the ability to balance long‑term strategic direction with short‑term operational priorities and deliver clear business impact.

Experience partnering with senior leadership, enabling governance, shaping strategic narratives, and influencing decision‑making at executive levels.

Demonstrated capability in orchestrating cross‑functional initiatives or large‑scale programs, ideally involving global stakeholders or transformation agendas.

High competence in data‑driven decision making, including comfort with KPIs, forecasting, performance dashboards, and analytical storytelling.

Strong communication and executive‑ready presentation skills, able to synthesize complex information into simple, compelling insights for C‑suite audiences.

Ability to lead through influence, drive alignment, and operate effectively in a matrixed, fast‑paced, and highly cross‑functional environment.
