Senior Planning Engineer

For one of our clients in the energy transition industry, we are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer.

Our client is a global engineering and technology company that specializes in large-scale energy and industrial infrastructure projects. It provides services including engineering, procurement, construction, and project management, with strong expertise in liquefied natural gas (LNG), petrochemicals, hydrogen, and carbon capture solutions. The organization plays a key role in supporting both conventional energy developments and lower‑carbon technologies as part of the global energy transition.

About the Job As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring successful project execution. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure the successful execution of multi‑discipline projects throughout all engineering and procurement phases.

General Tasks

Prioritize Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) aspects in daily activities.

Develop initial project schedules with team members within contract boundaries and maintain these schedules during the execution phase.

Set up and maintain progress measurement systems.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines are met.

Proactively address any scheduling conflicts or resource constraints.

Organize progress review meetings.

Review progress reports for subcontracted scopes.

Prepare consolidated progress charts and tables.

Develop company resource planning charts and tables.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project planning and execution.

Requirements About You

Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in a relevant field.

6 years of experience in a similar role.

Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Excel.

Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or German is a plus.

Open, curious, and strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
