Key Responsibilities and tasks:
Plan and implement experimental strawberry cultivations, ensuring crop quality aligns with trial objectives.
Maintain comprehensive records of growing operations, including planting schedules, yield metrics, and crop quality assessments
Ensure operational excellence of the farm, monitor performance and report anomalies
Observe and scout crops for quality, pests, deficiencies and document findings
Collect agronomic data using designated tools, technologies, and databases to support ongoing research
Required Profile:
HBO or bachelorโs degree in Agronomy or Horticulture, preferably with 2-4 years of working experience in the field
Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English
Verbal and written communication abilities in Dutch are a plus
Strong background in research and/or production of soft fruits, preferably strawberries
Knowledge of plant physiology, pest and disease management, and cultivation techniques
Familiarity with climate control systems and environmental monitoring tools in controlled-environment agriculture, preferably producing strawberries is essential
Competence in using agricultural software and digital farm management platforms
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to rapidly evolving agricultural technologies
Experience working in a research environment, open to combining classical growing methods with innovative and experimental approaches
Passion for sustainable agriculture and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
