Are you an experienced Windows Server Engineer ready to take on a major domain migration and decommissioning project? This 6-month assignment offers the opportunity to modernize and consolidate critical on-prem infrastructure while ensuring stability, security, and smooth transitions. We are looking for a skilled Server Engineer who can take ownership of the full migration lifecycle, from initial inventory to implementation, optimization, and final decommissioning. You will work across legacy domains and migrate workloads into a new, unified environment with minimal downtime and full data integrity. About the Role You will be responsible for inventorying existing servers, mapping dependencies, designing migration plans, preparing scripts, executing cutovers, optimizing post-migration performance, and securely decommissioning old systems. The environment is complex, mainly Windows-based, and requires strong expertise in AD integration, VMware, and network fundamentals. You will collaborate closely with technical teams, architects, security, and operational stakeholders. Strong communication skills and Dutch fluency are mandatory due to intensive coordination with local teams. Skills Needed Strong experience with Windows Server (2012–2022) Experience with VMware Expertise in Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP Proven experience migrating and decommissioning file, print, database, and application servers Basic network knowledge: VLANs, firewall rules, load balancers, reverse proxies Experience with migration planning, testing, cutovers and rollback scenarios Strong troubleshooting and dependency mapping skills Fluent Dutch is required We aim to respond promptly to all applications.
