The Role We are looking for a

Senior Email Infrastructure & Deliverability Engineer

to

design, operate, and future‑prove our entire email delivery ecosystem.

This is a senior, hands‑on role with full ownership. You will build and defend a large‑scale, PowerMTA‑based infrastructure operating in

high‑risk sending environments , where inbox placement, automation, and reputation directly impact revenue.

This role is not about campaigns or ESP tooling; it’s about email systems engineering under constant ISP scrutiny.

Why This Role Is Different This is not a standard Email Marketing or ESP operations role. You will operate in constant adversarial conditions, where ISPs apply stricter scrutiny, lower tolerance thresholds, and faster penalties. Success is measured not by volume sent, but by:

Stable inbox placement

Recovered reputation

Protected and scalable revenue

What You’ll Do You will own our end‑to‑end email delivery infrastructure and ensure it remains scalable, automated, and resilient.

Design, build, and operate

PowerMTA‑based sending architectures

Manage hundreds of Linux servers (RockyLinux / AlmaLinux 8 & 9)

Create provider‑specific sending stacks for Gmail, Microsoft, Yahoo, and others

Implement advanced routing, throttling, and retry logic per ISP

Ensure fault‑tolerant, auditable, and scalable delivery pipelines

DNS, Identity & Authentication

Own full DNS and email identity infrastructure:

SPF, DKIM, DMARC (mandatory)

ARC, BIMI, rDNS

Automate DNS provisioning via APIs (e.g. Cloudflare or similar)

Automation & Configuration Management

Automate server provisioning and configuration using

Ansible

Maintain infrastructure‑as‑code in Git‑based workflows

Automate PowerMTA configuration, deployment, and updates

Eliminate manual processes and single points of failure

Reputation, Warm‑Up & Recovery

Warm up new domains and IPs from 0 → 50k+ emails/day safely

Execute reputation recovery strategies across major ISPs

Apply micro‑segmentation, engagement‑based ramp‑ups, and behaviour‑driven sending

Proactively manage sender reputation to prevent revenue‑impacting drops

Deliverability Intelligence & Control

Analyze SMTP and MTA logs in depth:

Throttling and filtering signals

Build adaptive throttling and self‑healing delivery logic

Detect ISP filtering behavior at both protocol and behavioural levels

Blacklists, Feedback Loops & Abuse Signals

Monitor major blocklists and manage delisting workflows

Integrate and analyse ISP Feedback Loops (FBLs)

Control complaint rates and mitigate abuse signals

Tooling, Monitoring & Reporting

Build internal tools and dashboards using

Bash, Python, or similar

Automate monitoring, alerting, throttling, and recovery workflows

Provide clear visibility into reputation health and delivery performance

What You’ll Bring – Must‑haves

5–10+ years

experience in high‑volume email delivery environments

Mandatory experience in high‑risk industries

(e.g. adult, sweepstakes, iGaming, finance, pharma, crypto)

Deep Expertise In

PowerMTA tuning and operation

High‑risk warm‑up strategies

ISP filtering behaviour and reputation systems

Strong Background In

DNS and email authentication

Scripting and automation

Ability to independently design, operate, and defend complete email delivery ecosystems

Strong ownership mentality – this system is fully yours

Nice‑to‑Have

Experience managing very large server fleets

Experience building internal monitoring or reputation intelligence tools

Commercial awareness of how deliverability impacts revenue at scale
