Lead Appian Developer

An opportunity for a Lead Appian developer to join an international financial institution in the Utrecht area. This is a high-impact role within a complex, regulated environment where technical ownership of business-critical Appian applications supports global client onboarding and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities: Lead the technical design and development of enterprise-grade Appian solutions Act as the go-to expert within your Agile squad Translate complex business requirements (KYC, CRM, Client Data Management) into scalable process solutions Actively develop and configure applications — this is a hands-on role Ensure performance, security, and compliance in a highly regulated environment Guide and mentor other developers, raising engineering standards Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy Support production stability and resolve critical incidents when needed You will work on a core Client Lifecycle application — a central platform that enables seamless onboarding and data management for Wholesale & Rural clients globally.

The technology landscape includes: Appian-based process automation platforms CRM and Client Onboarding solutions KYC and Client Data Management systems Document Management and Cognitive Capture technologies A mix of modern enterprise platforms and legacy systems Security, compliance, and data protection are fundamental. You will operate in an environment with strict IT governance and high quality standards.

Requirements: 5+ years of experience within IT Strong hands-on Appian experience (Level 3 capability) Experience delivering business-critical workflow solutions Proven ability to design scalable and maintainable Appian applications Experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, SQL Understanding of HTTP, SSL/TLS, XML Experience in production-critical environments Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders Professional working proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus) You are a proactive engineer who takes ownership, leads by example, and thrives in complex enterprise environments.
