Aveva MES Lead Developer - 6 Months Contract

Netherlands (60%) & Denmark – Copenhagen (40%)

We are urgently seeking an experienced Lead AVEVA MES Developer to support the design and build phase of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation within the process/CPG industry.

This role requires a highly skilled and self-driven professional who can operate independently and lead development activities in an agile delivery model. The consultant will work closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders, co-creating solutions in short iterations and ensuring best-practice product usage.

The position requires significant onsite presence, with more than 50% of time spent in the Netherlands and approximately 40–45% onsite in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of AVEVA MES solutions during the build phase. - Work collaboratively with client stakeholders in Denmark in an agile, sprint-based delivery structure. - Co-create solutions with engineers and business users in short development cycles. - Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable MES solutions. - Apply deep product expertise to ensure optimal use of standard AVEVA MES capabilities. - Identify when standard configuration is sufficient versus when customization or alternative modules are required. - Challenge business stakeholders constructively to clarify requirements and align expectations. - Ensure adherence to best practices, architecture standards, and product governance. - Support troubleshooting, optimization, and enhancement of the MES solution. - Provide leadership and guidance to other developers and engineers within the project team.

Extensive hands-on experience with AVEVA MES (preferably former AVEVA employee or deep product-level expertise).

Strong product navigation and configuration capabilities.

Proven experience in MES implementations within the process or CPG industry.

Ability to work independently without supervision from senior Subject Matter Experts.

Strong understanding of:

- Standard AVEVA MES modules - Configuration vs. customization decisions - Industry best practices for MES design and implementation

Experience working in agile delivery environments with short iterations.

Strong stakeholder management skills.

Ability to challenge requirements and ask the right analytical questions.

Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
