Senior Business Development Manager – Clinical Trial Services (Europe)

Are you a well connected business developer in the clinical trial services space looking for a role where you can truly shape growth across Europe?

We’re supporting a global clinical services organisation as they expand their European commercial team and strengthen their presence across key pharma and biotech markets.

They’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager who can open doors, build relationships, and win strategic accounts within the clinical trials ecosystem.

If you already have relationships with sponsors, CROs, or biotech companies across Europe, this is a role where those connections can translate directly into growth.

The Opportunity This is a senior, high-autonomy business development role focused on winning new customers across Europe.

The business already has strong credibility globally and is investing heavily in expanding its European clinical services footprint, particularly across Germany, Benelux, and Switzerland.

You’ll be responsible for developing new opportunities within pharma and biotech organisations running clinical trials and looking for reliable partners to support their clinical supply needs.

You’ll work closely with operational and commercial teams globally, but you’ll own your market and your pipeline.

Expect a role where you will: Build and convert a pipeline of new clinical trial services opportunities Leverage your industry network across sponsors, CROs, and biotech organisations Win new accounts and develop long-term strategic partnerships Lead commercial discussions from initial engagement through to proposal and close Work closely with internal teams to design solutions for complex clinical programmes Represent the business at industry conferences, client meetings, and networking events

This role suits someone who enjoys building accounts strategically rather than chasing transactional deals.

The Market The company works primarily with: Small to mid-size pharmaceutical companies Biotech organisations running Phase I–III trials CROs and strategic outsourcing partners

Many opportunities sit within early and mid-phase clinical development, but the business also supports later-phase programmes and commercial preparation.

Deal sizes vary from smaller clinical projects to large multi-study partnerships.

What They’re Looking For This role requires someone who already understands the clinical trial ecosystem in Europe and knows how to navigate it.

You’ll likely come from one of the following environments: Clinical trial packaging & labelling Clinical supply chain services Clinical trial logistics CDMO / CMO services supporting clinical trials CRO services with a strong clinical operations focus

They’re particularly interested in people who bring: 4+ years experience in clinical trial supply chain or services A strong network across pharma, biotech, and CRO stakeholders A proven track record winning new business in Europe Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills The ability to develop and convert complex opportunities

Language skills German or Dutch alongside English are highly valuable in for this role.

Location The business is flexible on location but ideally looking for someone based in: Germany The Netherlands These locations provide strong access to the company’s key customer base and operational teams.
