We are now seeking a Director of Operations to join our growing team.
In this Amsterdam‑based role (with two days per week in the office), you will lead operations across the BENELUX and DACH regions.
Inside the organisation, the role is formally titled Subregional Senior Vice President.
The Role
As the Director of Operations, you will lead and manage all business, operational, and people-related activities within a defined geographical subregion. Acting as the strategic and operational link between global executive leadership and local execution, you ensure alignment with company-wide objectives while driving strong regional performance.
You will oversee cross-functional teams through direct leadership and collaborative influence, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and commercial growth. The role includes subregional P&L oversight, budgeting, and business development execution, all within established governance frameworks.
You will translate global strategy into actionable regional plans, foster a high‑performance culture, and represent the organisation at an executive level.
Main Responsibilities
1. Subregional Business Leadership
Own and drive operational and financial performance, including profitability and market share.
Contribute to growth through operational excellence, client satisfaction, retention, and collaboration with Sales and Client Services.
Translate global strategy into actionable subregional plans aligned with corporate objectives.
2. Operational Excellence
Ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient service delivery across all workforce solutions.
Monitor and continuously improve operational KPIs, SLAs, and client satisfaction metrics.
3. Team & People Leadership
Lead subregional leadership teams and core delivery teams.
Influence matrixed and global support teams (Finance, P&B, Legal, Sales, Client Services) to ensure alignment and effective execution.
Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous development.
Act as an ambassador for company values.
4. Client & Partner Management
Serve as the executive point of contact for key regional clients and partners.
Support client retention, issue resolution, and expansion.
Champion a customer-centric approach across all touchpoints.
5. Financial Leadership
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control within approved governance frameworks.
Identify efficiency gains and investment priorities that contribute to sustainable growth.
6. Business Development & Market Expansion
Support regional go-to-market initiatives, including new client acquisition and partner development.
Provide market intelligence and local insights to shape global commercial strategies.
7. Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all labour laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Actively manage operational and reputational risks in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
8. Cross-Functional Support & Escalation
Support cross-functional activities such as collections, legal matters, and compliance topics.
Serve as a senior escalation point for client-related issues.
9. Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
Report on subregional performance to regional executive leadership, providing insights, escalations, and recommendations.
Represent subregional needs and opportunities in regional and global forums.
What experience are we looking for?
Fluency in both English and Dutch is essential.
Significant experience in the EOR, payroll, staffing, or wider workforce solutions industry.
Hands-on operational leadership, with the ability to mobilise teams and drive performance.
A proven track record of navigating complexity and change with confidence and resilience.
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to link operational execution to business outcomes.
Solid understanding of local labour regulations and compliance requirements.
A practical, proactive, and impact-oriented mindset, focused on delivering meaningful results.
