Background
A key client of Strives are looking to appoint skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyors to become part of their dynamic project delivery team based in Groningen. This is an excellent opportunity to work on prestigious projects for leading clients while being part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects, ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled, financial performance is optimised, and value is delivered at every stage of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily commercial and contractual operations across your projects.
Administer contracts, including managing variations and maintaining detailed records such as change order registers.
Secure competitive value when procuring and appointing subcontractors.
Contribute to budget control, cost planning, and feasibility assessments where required.
Review and certify subcontractor interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring compliance with applicable construction legislation.
Chair pre-contract meetings with subcontractors to clearly define scope, align terms, and mitigate contractual risks through appropriate flow-down provisions.
Produce accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with senior commercial and project leadership teams.
Support healthy cash flow by preparing and submitting timely, fully substantiated monthly valuations in line with contract requirements.
Prepare, negotiate, and agree final accounts, including claims relating to variations, delays, disruption, loss and expense, and extensions of time.
Maintain strong working relationships with design consultants and client representatives throughout project delivery.
Ensure commercial procedures and governance processes are consistently applied in line with delegated authority.
Key Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or an equivalent qualification.
3–5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction sector.
Strong understanding of standard construction contract forms such as NEC, RIAI, and FIDIC.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Confident negotiator with strong conflict resolution capabilities.
Process-driven, detail-oriented, and results focused.
