The Commercial Department is responsible for securing offshore transportation and installation projects worldwide. This includes all phases of business acquisition, from early market analysis, promotion, business development and tender preparation through to negotiation, contract finalisation and project handover.
To strengthen the Global Sales and Business Development Team, our client is seeking a
Commercial Manager .
The global Sales and Business Development Team consists of enthusiastic professionals operating worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for a designated product-market segment (Subsea). Working closely with colleagues in Market Analysis, Business Development, Tendering, Engineering, Legal, QHSE and Project Management, you will contribute to securing contracts for complex offshore transport and installation projects.
Each project is unique, and ownership and commercial accountability are key. This is a varied and challenging opportunity within a truly international organisation.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine Business Strategy for key areas, ensuring alignment with overall Corporate Strategy to drive growth.
Gather and maintain industry intelligence, represent the company at conferences and exhibitions, and organise stakeholder presentations, workshops and training sessions to increase visibility.
Promote company capabilities through market analysis, SWOT assessments and identification of target markets.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, working closely with regional representatives to enhance satisfaction and long‑term partnerships.
Share market intelligence internally, conduct competitor analysis, update partner plans, and provide value‑based pricing input to support commercial decision‑making.
Represent the organisation in regional initiatives, coordinate joint proposals, and support bid teams with winning strategies.
Initiate and manage partnerships, bid collaborations and agency/representation agreements to secure inclusion on preferred bidder and pre‑qualification lists.
Requirements
BSc or MSc degree in Technical Sciences and/or Commercial/Business Administration.
Minimum of 5 years’ Project and Commercial experience within the offshore industry.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with excellent networking skills.
Highly developed commercial awareness and ability to identify new opportunities.
Practical, results‑driven approach with strong accountability.
Confident and engaging presentation skills.
Strong conceptual and strategic thinking capabilities.
