Responsibilities
The enforcement of safe systems of work and holding those below them in the management structure accountable for their health and safety performance.
The provision of safe equipment, safe working environment and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
Ensure employees in their team are adequately informed, instructed, trained and supervised to safely carry out work for which they are engaged.
Ensure a safe working environment, striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, through the delivery of key enabling activities (e.g. Near Misses, Safety Observations, timely completion of actions, 5S). Ensure that safety and environmental incidents are fully investigated, and the appropriate countermeasures established.
Manage the Production operations ensuring efficiency and the production schedule is achieved.
Make sure alignment with planning is achieved and set planning is shared with all team members necessary.
Be the contact person for other department, e.g. planning, warehouse, maintenance, Purchasing, HR, Quality Control and R&D.
Managing absenteeism of the team.
Lead and/or contributor of Standard work initiatives. Takt, Kaizen, 5S and SOP.
Daily start-up with team.
Monitoring Team members productivity (entry, break times to be deployed and supervised effectively.
Responsible for Shift administration, bottleneck reporting and daily dashboards.
Operating standards must be monitored, and any necessary changes are initiated.
Operator 'dead time' is closely monitored and any possible reductions are initiated.
Day to day problems are resolved and reported to the responsible departments, when needed escalation set out according to escalation matrix.
Team members are sufficiently empowered to take appropriate responsibility.
Team members are actively involved in communication and the development and introduction of improvement initiatives.
Cover is provided in the absence of other Team Leaders or Supervisors.
Recommendations to plant, equipment and working practices are developed and effectively communicated to management.
Project Team Member for projects in their department.
Performs other duties as assigned
Responsibility for performance reviews and training development of the team
Qualifications
Required:
Previous teamleading experience and / or qualifications
MBO work- and thinking level or education – Chemistry, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or other relevant Technical of Supply Chain study
Safety First, awareness and experience with systems to manage a safe environment.
Good interpersonal, influencing, coaching and negotiating skills.
An articulate communicator both written and verbal.
Ability to effectively build and manage relationships.
Has enthusiasm and patience to develop others.
Values strong team work.
Numerically astute with the ability to drive action
