The role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work on the development of advanced naval vessels in cooperation with defence partners and international stakeholders. You ensure that these highly complex ships are equipped with reliable, safe, and regulation-compliant electrical systems. Your work includes designing power distribution networks, defining load balances, and integrating high-end systems with stringent EMC, redundancy, and operational requirements.
Key accountabilities
Your responsibilities include:
Developing functional descriptions, drawings, and basic engineering documents for power distribution, lighting, and other shipboard electrical systems.
Preparing and maintaining specification documents for electrical components and installation processes in compliance with military and classification standards.
Writing detailed test and validation plans to ensure compliance with class regulations and project-specific requirements during simulations and physical test phases (FAT, HAT, SAT).
Coordinating vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables aligned with project goals.
Reviewing and integrating vendor and subcontractor designs into the overall electrical architecture.
Developing and updating standards and methods for detailed engineering and commissioning activities.
Supporting proposal phases by creating conceptual electrical designs and providing technical input.
Providing technical support and participating in commissioning activities for ongoing projects.
Skills & experience
We are seeking candidates with:
3+ years of experience designing complex electrical systems, including large power distribution networks, preferably within the maritime, offshore, or defence domain.
Proven experience working on complex multidisciplinary projects with multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE), preferably using the V-model.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience designing EMC-compliant electrical systems; knowledge of TEMPEST or similar standards is an asset.
Excellent references; security screening may be required.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport (required for defence-related projects).
Candidates holding EU work visas or dual EU/non-EU nationalities are not eligible due to project requirements.
