Mechanical Testing Manager

As
Mechanical Testing Manager , you are responsible for the operational performance, safety and development of advanced mechanical test facilities used for high end aerospace and space hardware testing. In this role, you combine deep technical expertise with people management and operational oversight. You lead a highly skilled mechanical team and ensure that testing, maintenance and calibration activities are executed to the highest standards.
Role summary
As Mechanical Testing Manager, you manage and coordinate all mechanical testing and maintenance activities. You are technically and operationally responsible for facilities such as vibration systems, acoustic chambers and mass property measurement equipment. You act as a key interface between customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
Your tasks include:
Managing and planning maintenance and operational activities in line with technical, financial and contractual requirements
Leading and developing a team of engineers, technicians and temporary staff
Coordinating mechanical tests, maintenance activities, training and personnel qualification
Monitoring facility performance and identifying improvements in safety, efficiency and reliability
Acting as technical representative towards customers and institutional stakeholders
Providing technical and financial input for proposals and project planning
Managing subcontractors, calibration partners and suppliers
Supporting or acting as test responsible in mechanical test programmes
Leading troubleshooting activities and non conformity investigations

Your profile
University degree (BSc.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Several years of experience in mechanical testing of space or aerospace hardware
Hands on experience with operating vibration testing facilities (this is a must have)
Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams
Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem solving mindset
Ability to combine technical depth with operational and organisational oversight
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
In possession of an EU passport
