We are working with a leading global digital platform to appoint an experienced Android Software Engineer for a 9-month contract based in Amsterdam.

This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of Android development within a product-focused engineering team. You will play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and stabilising production applications in a fast-paced environment.

The Role You will be the primary Android engineer in the team, responsible for system design, coding, troubleshooting and incident management. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical independence and production ownership. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to architectural decisions and continuous quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop Android applications aligned to business requirements Write high-quality, maintainable and testable code Perform system design and architectural evaluations Troubleshoot, debug and resolve production issues Own application performance monitoring and reliability improvements Contribute to continuous delivery and operational excellence

Requirements Strong Android development background Proven system design capability Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex systems Production incident management experience Strong communication skills and stakeholder collaboration Ability to work independently with limited mentorship
