Job Description
Booking.com is looking for a Junior Enterprise Applications Engineer. As a member of a small team, you will be part of the team responsible for the architecture, implementation, and maintenance of the chat applications (Slack, Workplace by Facebook) used to collaborate with teams across the globe. Your primary responsibility is to make sure our chat platforms are stable, well-maintained and directly contributing to our goal of creating a digital workplace where our colleagues can do their best work.
You will be required to drive constant innovation in a fast-paced dynamic environment experiencing tremendous growth, where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required. As well as working independently, you will also be responsible for making technical decisions within the team and across the wider department.

Responsibilities
Influence and cooperate with people at all levels. Be an excellent communicator, open-minded, approachable, flexible and diplomatic.
Combine your knowledge and expertise with the goals of our business to support and maintain the chat platforms that enable key communication and collaboration.
Proactively configure, monitor and maintain chat platforms.
Take the initiative to address the larger technical needs of the chat platforms and always keep the customer at the center of everything you do.
Have a ‘can do’ attitude and act proactively, not just reactively.
Solve business problems, work cross-functionally, and lead initiatives to improve our colleague’s user experience within Booking.com.
Contribute to the growth of Booking.com by proactively sharing your knowledge to help your colleagues grow.
Represent Booking.com values, both within the company and in the external community.
Advocate for a collaborative working environment – turn “my ideas” into “our ideas”.
Champion the user and make data-driven decisions that benefit your users and make their life easier.
Qualifications
1-3 years of hands‑on experience with software application support, maintenance and implementations.
Team player and fluent in the English language (both spoken and written).
Understanding of Identity and Access Management (principles) fundamentals and implementations.
Scripting experience in at least one language (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python)
Understanding of integrating SaaS with on‑premise applications.
Basic knowledge of networking and security.
Solution‑driven attitude.
Capable of assisting in automating provisioning processes and implementing single sign‑on.
Understanding of observability and capable of establishing monitoring, alerting and dashboards for on‑premise and SaaS applications.
Can proactively identify gaps and potential improvements to existing chat applications and act as a driver for change, actively pursuing product enhancements.
Advantageous skills and abilities:
Experience managing enterprise SaaS applications is a big plus.
Experience administering Slack, Workplace by Facebook or Cisco Jabber for large enterprises.
Experience integrating with Okta to support identity management and the user account lifecycle.
A history of building and maintaining relationships with external software vendors.
Proven ability to kick‑start and drive technical, business, and people‑related initiatives that improved productivity, performance, and quality.
