SAP FINANCE SPECIALIST - 2.5 Months - Interim - Freelance - NL
Role Overview
The SAP Finance IT Specialist will play a key role in delivering finance-related ERP projects, supporting transformation initiatives, and ensuring stable operations across finance systems. This role combines functional expertise, hands‑on system configuration, and project leadership, requiring a strong foundation in ERP finance processes (SAP preferred). The specialist will work closely with finance stakeholders, global IT teams, and application support partners to ensure seamless system performance and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Small Project Delivery - Finance ERP
Independently manage and deliver small‑to‑medium finance ERP initiatives end‑to‑end, including:
Requirements analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment
Managing several projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
Supporting changes related to:
Legal entity restructuring and operating model adjustments
Goods and financial flow implementation or modification
Integration between ERP finance modules and external platforms (e.g., banking systems, third‑party applications)
This role requires deep, hands‑on ERP finance knowledge and the ability to ramp up quickly within existing systems and environments.
2. Finance Transformation & Implementation Support
Support broader finance transformation programs by contributing expertise across:
Definition and execution of test scenarios for finance process changes
Data migration validation, reconciliation, and audit readiness
Alignment of finance reporting requirements with system configuration and process design
Ensuring finance process integrity, compliance, and consistency across deployments
3. Finance Stabilization & Operational Support
Provide support during post‑go‑live and stabilization phases:
Troubleshoot finance‑related issues and drive resolution with relevant IT teams
Act as an escalation point for finance IT incidents
Support reconciliation efforts and maintain data accuracy during transitions
Advise local finance teams on system usage, best practices, and issue resolution
4. BAU Support & Service Coordination
Act as a subject matter expert in ongoing operations:
Provide ad‑hoc functional guidance to application management and support teams
Coordinate ERP and non‑ERP system changes impacting finance processes
Monitor ticket handling and ensure service levels are maintained
Represent Finance IT in cross‑functional governance forums and service reviews
Required Qualifications & Experience
8-10 years of experience in ERP finance environments (SAP strongly preferred)
Proven track record in delivering end‑to‑end finance ERP projects
Strong hands‑on configuration knowledge of finance modules
Experience with integration between ERP systems and external financial platforms
Solid understanding of finance processes, reporting requirements, and data structures
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work in a structured, proactive manner
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
