Medior Data Scientist | Consumer Lending | Temporary Assignment | Amsterdam Join a skilled data science team and make a direct impact on the automatic loan approval process. Work with cutting‑edge transaction classification models, collaborate closely with engineers and business stakeholders, and help shape the customer experience in Consumer Lending. This temporary role offers hybrid working, a highly motivated team, and hands‑on experience in a challenging financial environment.

About the role As a Medior Data Scientist in the team, you will focus on improving and extending transaction classification models to optimise the loan approval process. You will also monitor model performance and collaborate across engineering, analytics, and business teams. The role is organised around weekly Kanban sessions to align priorities and tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop, test, and monitor machine learning models for transaction classification and loan approval.

Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and scalable solutions.

Apply software engineering best practices, including test‑driven development and version control.

Support hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the office.

Tech Stack & Tools: Python, SQL, Spark, MLflow, Airflow, Docker, Azure DevOps, Elastic, Grafana, REST APIs

About you

Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Econometrics, or a related field

Experience with Python (pandas/polars), Spark, SQL, OOP, and model development & monitoring

Strong analytical skills, detail‑oriented, and able to communicate complex analyses clearly

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Proficient in Dutch

Nice to have:

Experience with CI/CD, Docker, GCP, or transactional/customer‑level data

Knowledge of Consumer Lending or credit processes

Strong software engineering skills
