Control Design Engineer (Indianapolis)

Title : Controls Design Engineer Location:

Indianapolis, IN 46278 Perm Position: $80,000 to 90,000 + OT and bonuses will equate to 100K+ in total compensation.

PURPOSE:

This role is responsible for designing and implementing hardwired control systems and PLC software, following established OTI software standards, with minimal management assistance. The engineer works closely with Project Managers through weekly reviews to manage scope, budget, schedules, design milestones, and required documentation. The position requires frequent and effective communication with customers, proactive identification and reporting of scope or budget changes, and the creation of engineering change requests and purchase requisitions as needed. The role also ensures strict adherence to engineering methods, safety standards, documentation practices, and timely submission of all project records and timesheets.

Must Haves: 1.) 3 - 7 years’ of experience working as an electrical design engineer. 2.) Experience troubleshooting existing control systems and equipment. 3) PLC and HMI Programing experience (primarily Rockwell and Allen Bradley)

Pluses: Vision experience with Cognex and/or Keyence cameras Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Experience with Ignition Data Bases Experience working in a Pharmaceutical’s environment
