We have a fantastic opportunity available for an Automation Controls Engineer to join an established advanced electronic components manufacturer near the Binghamton, NY area.

Job Duties : Design and launch automated assembly & test equipment. Program and support PLC/HMI, motion, robotics, and vision systems. Automate processes such as crimping, press fit, pin insertion, welding, heat staking, laser marking, and in-line inspection. Integrate equipment with MES/SCADA for traceability, OEE, and data analytics. Lead PFMEA, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and continuous improvement initiatives. Troubleshoot downtime issues and drive root cause & corrective actions. Support safety, compliance, documentation, and operator/technician training.

Education and Experience : BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong PLC/HMI programming, motion control, and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with robotics, machine vision, pneumatics, and tooling/fixtures. Exposure to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or similar regulated environments. Capital project experience and vendor management a plus. Mandarin language skills would be preferred (not required).
