Emergency, Surgery, Oncology, Anesthesia and Critical Care.

As a Veterinary Technician in the Internal Medicine department, you be responsible for the following duties: Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures including blood work, imaging, and endoscopy. Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine service. Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care treatments under veterinarian supervision. Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their animal's condition and treatment options. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized. Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology. Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine through continuing education. Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment. Availability Monday-Friday

Saturday flexibility required (2 Saturdays per month) Weekend and holiday flexibility required General understanding and experience with small animal restraint with a focus on cats and dogs High school diploma working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital. Understand and follow established hospital processes and procedures (i.e. Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology. Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on internal medicine. Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California.
