Minimum requirements: Job Overview The Systems Engineer (Fortinet NSE4/FCP) will play a critical role in delivering technical expertise for Fortinet solutions, supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities. This role involves collaborating with sales teams, channel partners, and customers to design, implement, and optimize Fortinet-based cybersecurity and networking solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive, customer-focused professional with strong technical knowledge of Fortinet products and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and design tailored Fortinet-based solutions (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, etc.). - Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) deployments to showcase Fortinet solutions to prospective clients. - Develop solution architectures, technical proposals, and Bills of Materials (BoMs) to meet customer requirements. - Provide expert guidance on Fortinet product capabilities, including next-generation firewalls (NGFW), SD-WAN, zero-trust network access (ZTNA), and secure access service edge (SASE) etc. - Assist in proposing solutions to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders with accurate and compelling technical content. - Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and Fortinets product roadmap to position solutions effectively. Post-Sales Responsibilities: - Lead the implementation, configuration, and deployment of Fortinet solutions to ensure successful customer onboarding. - Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting, optimization, and performance tuning of Fortinet products post-deployment. - Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and training for customers and partners on Fortinet solutions. - Collaborate with customers to ensure seamless integration of Fortinet products into their existing IT environments. - Work closely with Fortinets technical support teams and Africas internal resources to resolve complex technical issues. - Document implementation processes, configurations, and best practices to ensure customer satisfaction and repeatability. General Responsibilities: - Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Fortinets product portfolio and emerging cybersecurity trends. - Contribute to the development of internal processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance service delivery. - Participate in industry events, webinars, and training sessions to promote Africa and Fortinet solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and technical support, to drive business objectives. -Keep up to date Certifications across assigned Vendors. -Upskill in new technologies according to business needs. Qualifications and Skills Required: - Fortinet NSE4 certification (NSE5, NSE6, or NSE7 is a plus). - Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certification in Network Security or equivalent. - 3 years of experience in a systems engineering role, with a focus on cybersecurity and networking solutions. - Proven experience in pre-sales and post-sales activities, including solution design, implementation, and support. - In-depth knowledge of Fortinet products, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SD-WAN, and related technologies. - Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, BGP, OSPF) and cybersecurity principles (firewall policies, IPS, antivirus, etc.). - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Willingness to travel across South-Africa as needed to support customers and partners. -Competent in English language written and spoken Preferred: - Additional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point). - Experience working in a distribution or channel-focused environment. - Familiarity with cloud security, SASE, or zero-trust architectures. - Knowledge of ITIL frameworks or project management methodologies. - Fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
