Head AI and Data Engineer

We are seeking to appoint a Head AI and Data Engineer . The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and optimisation of data platforms and AI-driven systems , ensuring scalability, security, and high performance across all data pipelines and workflows. Skills and Experience Required: · 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Lead · Advanced proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , particularly BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage , and Composer · Strong programming skills in Python (using SQLAlchemy or similar ORM), SQL , and either Java or PHP · Proven experience in data modelling , schema design , and performance tuning · Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools such as Gemini (advantageous) · Demonstrated ability to manage complex data workflows , troubleshoot edge cases , and ensure data security · Experience in cloud cost optimisation and scalable architecture design · Excellent communication skills and a high level of professional accountability Should you meet the requirements for this position, please email your CV to it.vacancy@stand-outstaffing.co.za .
