Quality Assurance Manager

A well established and reputable firm based in the North, requires a Quality Assurance Manager: This role is pivotal in: Protecting the firms reputation and audit license Enhancing audit efficiency and consistency Supporting talent development and technical competence Ensuring readiness for external inspections and peer reviews. DUTIES: Audit Quality Oversight Ensures that audit engagements meet professional standards (ISAs, IRBA, IESBA) and internal firm policies. Methodology & Compliance Monitoring Reviews audit files for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Internal Quality Reviews Conducts periodic inspections of audit work, including cold and hot reviews, to identify gaps and recommend improvements. Training & Development Designs and delivers training on audit methodology, ethics, and quality standards to staff across levels. Regulatory Liaison Interfaces with external regulators like IRBA, ensuring the firm is prepared for inspections and responds appropriately to findings. Risk Management Identifies areas of audit risk and helps develop mitigation strategies, especially in high-profile or complex engagements. Policy Development Updates and maintains quality control manuals, audit templates, and procedural documentation. Root Cause Analysis & Remediation Investigates quality failures or review findings and leads corrective action plans. Skills & Attributes Deep knowledge of auditing standards, ethics codes, and regulatory frameworks (IRBA, SAICA, IFAC). Strong analytical and communication skills to guide teams and influence firm-wide practices. Ability to balance technical precision with practical audit execution. Leadership in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ethical excellence. REQUIREMENTS: Occupational Certificate: Internal Audit Manager (Quality Assurer) Registered with SAQA XXX-XXXX), this NQF Level 8 qualification prepares professionals to assess internal audit activities for conformance with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
