General Manager (Industrial Packaging) (JB5673) Kinshasa, Congo $5,000 $6,000 a month Single person Accommodation provided Two trips home annually Annual performance bonus depending on company performance Contract - 23 year renewable contracts / work permits handled by the company An established manufacturing company specialising in industrial sacks and packaging solutions is seeking a strategic and operationally strong General Manager for their facility near Kinshasa, Congo. This role requires full oversight of all company operations, including production, finance, procurement, administration, and logistics. The company operates on long-term client contracts, so the focus is on efficient production, financial planning, and operational excellence rather than high-volume sales. The successful candidate will work closely with the Factory Manager, lead department heads, and report to the board. This is a hands-on role for a leader with strong turnaround skills who can get the factory back on track operationally and financially. The position includes housing, two company-paid trips home annually, and a potential annual performance bonus. Minimum Requirements: 10 years in a senior manufacturing leadership role (GM, Operations Director, or similar) Proven experience across multiple business functions production, finance, procurement, and administration Strong financial planning, budgeting, and cost control skills Manufacturing sector background is essential; experience in packaging, paper, plastics, or related industries is advantageous Hands-on leadership style comfortable with active operational involvement Strong systems implementation skills and analytical abilitie Proven ability to lead cross-cultural and multinational teams Capable of operating effectively in a remote location Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of company operations, including production, finance, procurement, and logistics Oversee and support department heads, including the Factory Manager Ensure the factory meets production schedules and financial targets Manage raw material procurement, working capital, and financial controls Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance targets Implement systems and operational improvements to enhance efficiency Maintain legal and regulatory compliance across all operations Represent the company at board level and in dealings with external stakeholders Identify operational challenges and lead turnaround initiatives to restore profitability and performance Please do not apply using Scanned CVs, no supporting documentation is required at this point, this will be requested later.
