Drawing Office Leader

A leading engineering and manufacturing company in Brakpan is seeking an experienced Drawing Office Leader to oversee and coordinate the drawing office team in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and detail-oriented professional to manage the design, 3D modelling, and documentation of engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. If you have hands-on experience in draughting, project management, and technical coordination, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and coordinate a team of draughtsmen to maintain high standards of drawing presentation, accuracy, and archiving. Design and 3D model products and assemblies. Establish, document, and issue product standards for quality control purposes. Calculate and document component strength and suitability. Manage drawing registers and ensure safe storage of all work. Control the issuing of drawings to all qualified parties. Conduct site visits as required to gather background information. Provide technical coordination and support to drawing office personnel. Participate in project meetings to clarify requirements and maximize product solutions. Mentor incoming drawing support staff. Requirements Draughting qualification (National Certificate) Mechanical, Structural, or related discipline. Experience with 3D modelling software (Inventor preferred). Project management skills including planning, stakeholder engagement, and team empowerment. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high documentation standards. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous. Benefits Salary: negotiable.
